Rainfall Records

The City of Parksville rainfall gauge is located at the engineering and operations works yard at 1116 Herring Gull Way. The rainfall gauge which accurately measures rainfall in increments of 0.2mm, was installed in December 2004 for the purpose of recording annual rainfall, significant storm rainfall events and trending climate change.

This data is further analyzed and used in computer models to aid the engineering department when upgrading and replacing the City's existing sanitary sewer and storm drainage infrastructure for various capital works projects.
