Wood Chipping Program
The City’s 2021 wood chipping program will take place from April 5 through April 30. This will be the only wood chipping program offered this year.
The City is divided into two zones - west of Craig Street and east of Craig Street. Properties located west of Craig Street will receive collection between April 5 and April 16 and collection for properties east of Craig Street is scheduled between April 19 and April 30. Materials must be at curbside by 8 am on:
• April 5 – For collection at properties WEST of Craig Street
• April 19 – For collection at properties EAST of Craig Street
• Branches with a maximum diameter of 6 inches (15 cm), stacked with the larger end of the branch or trunk facing the roadway.
• Smaller shrub branches piled for ease of access by the chipping crew.
Rocks, stumps and construction waste may cause injury to the chipper operators and must NOT be included in the piles. Please note that due to safety issues, materials such as pampas grass, yucca and clematis and wisteria vines cannot by chipped. These, along with compostable vegetation, garden debris, leaves, and grass clippings may be taken to the Church Road Transfer Station (open 8 am to 5 pm daily). Piles containing these items will not be removed by the chipping crew.
Piles must be limited to a size of 5 feet wide x 5 feet long x 3 feet high and only one pile per residence will be removed by the chipping crew. Please do not combine piles from multiple households as it is more difficult and time consuming for the chipping crew to take apart large piles than it is for them to handle smaller piles. When placing your chipping pile, do not to obstruct your property’s City water connection box in the event access is required for maintenance.
