Business Licences

The City of Parksville welcomes your business and appreciates the opportunities your business will provide for our residents. The City requires all businesses have a valid business licence.

Approvals Required
Depending on the type of business that you intend to operate, review and/or approval pertaining to zoning, building code, fire code, police, health, or provincial requirements may be necessary before your business licence can be issued.

Changes to Current Business Licences
The City must be notified of any change to a business, including new ownership, change of mailing address, relocation or closure of the business. To notify the City of changes, please complete and submit the business licence application form indicating the appropriate changes. Businesses should not continue to operate until the City has approved changes to the licence.

Licences may be paid as follows

  • Credit card (Visa or Mastercard) payments from the City’s online services
  • Mail to P O Box 1390, Parksville V9P 2H3
  • Dropbox at City Hall (100 Jensen Avenue East)
  • In-person at City Hall (Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm)
You are encouraged to contact us prior to a decision being made on leasing or purchasing a particular premise to ensure you can obtain a business licence for the site. For more information:

Non-Resident Businesses
Should a business which is not located in Parksville wish to do business in Parksville, the business must obtain a City of Parksville business licence.
