PUBLIC NOTICE - DEVELOPMENT VARIANCE PERMIT

Public Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends to consider whether to issue a Development Variance Permit during the regular meeting of Council to be held Monday, February 6, 2023, at 10 am in the Forum at the Parksville Civic and Technology Centre, 100 Jensen Avenue East, Parksville, BC.

The general intent of the Development Variance Permit, if approved, is to increase the maximum allowable gross floor area of accessory buildings in order to facilitate construction of an accessory pool building.

Specifically, the purpose of the Development Variance Permit application is to relax Section 202.2 of “City of Parksville Zoning and Development Bylaw, 1994, No. 2000” by increasing the maximum allowable combined gross floor area of accessory buildings and accessory carriage house from 90 m2 to 113.08 m2 (~986 ft2 to 1,217 ft2).

The Development Variance Permit, if approved, will apply to the subject property at 123 SHELLY ROAD [Lot 3, District Lot 4, Nanoose District, Plan 7773, Except that Part in Plan 23179].

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
(1465 GREIG ROAD)

Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held by the Council of the City of Parksville on Monday, February 13, 2023, at 6 pm in the Parksville Civic and Technology Centre, 100 Jensen Avenue East, Parksville, BC to consider public representations on the following bylaws:

"PLAN PARKSVILLE AMENDMENT BYLAW, 2022, NO. 1492.6"
AND
"ZONING AND DEVELOPMENT AMENDMENT BYLAW, 2022, NO. 2000.138"

1) "PLAN PARKSVILLE AMENDMENT BYLAW, 2022, NO. 1492.6" proposes to amend "Plan Parksville: A Vision for Our Future, Official Community Plan Bylaw, 2013, No. 1492".

In general terms, the purpose of the proposed amendment to the OCP is to change the “Schedule ‘B’ – Future Landuse Map” at 1465 Greig Road, legally described as Lot 3, District Lot 129, Nanoose District, Plan 2072 |PID: 006-718-876], as shown shaded on the map below, from both the “Single Unit Residential” and “Planned Neighbourhood” designations to only the “Planned Neighbourhood” designation.

2) "ZONING AND DEVELOPMENT AMENDMENT BYLAW, 2022, NO. 2000.138" proposes to amend "City of Parksville Zoning and Development Bylaw, 1994, No. 2000."

In general terms, the purpose of the proposed amendment to the “City of Parksville Zoning and Development Bylaw” is to rezone from the Agricultural A-1 zone to a new Comprehensive Development CD-33 Zone to facilitate a mix of residential densities and building types, home based business, assisted living facility, limited retail trade, outdoor recreation, park and linear pathways at the property located at 1465 Greig Road, legally described as Lot 3, District Lot 129, Nanoose District, Plan 2072 |PID: 006-718-876], as shown shaded on the map below.
