SEEKING OFFERS TO PURCHASE CITY LAND
The City of Parksville (the "City") is soliciting offers to purchase the laneway between Bagshaw Street and McVickers Street, a total area of 1,425 m2 (15,354 ft2) as shown in the PDF below.
The property is being sold as a fee simple interest, on the condition of consolidation with adjacent private lands. The City is willing to entertain offers to purchase the lands as a single parcel or as multiple parcels on a pro-rated per metre basis. The listing price for the land is:
$CDN 300 (THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS) per square metre.
Offers to purchase must disclose the identity of the buyer, the price offered and any subject conditions the buyer may require and must be delivered in writing to Administration Department, City of Parksville, PO Box 1390 (100 Jensen Avenue East), Parksville V9P 2H3, by no later than
3 pm on Friday, August 21, 2020.
Council has indicated it will evaluate proposals primarily on price, but may also give consideration to future intended uses where the financial offers are relatively equal. After the City has finalized the sale, a road closure application will be processed by the City to facilitate conversion of the lands to private ownership.
There will be no public opening of offers. Offers received will be presented to City Council for consideration and Council may in its sole discretion choose to proceed with any or none of the offers. If Council chooses to proceed with an offer, the buyer will be required to execute a purchase contract in a form acceptable to the City (the "purchase contract") and a non-binding agreement for the purchase and sale of the property will be formed until both the buyer and the City have executed the purchase contract.
