PUBLIC NOTICE
DEVELOPMENT VARIANCE PERMIT

Public Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends to consider whether to issue a Development Variance Permit during the regular meeting of Council to be held Monday, July 4, 2022, at 6 pm in the Forum at the Parksville Civic and Technology Centre, 100 Jensen Avenue East, Parksville, BC.

The general intent of the Development Variance Permit, if approved, is to facilitate the conversion of an existing garage/workshop accessory building into an accessory carriage house for residential purposes.

Specifically, the purpose of the Development Variance Permit application is to vary Section 202.3 of "City of Parksville Zoning and Development Bylaw, 1994, No. 2000" by reducing the minimum building setback for an accessory carriage house from the east interior lot line from 3.0 m to 2.43 m (from approximately 9.8 ft. to 8.0 ft.).

The Development Variance Permit, if approved, will apply to the subject property at 178 SKYLARK AVENUE [Lot 8, District Lot 13, Nanoose District, Plan VIP87270]as shown shaded on the map below:

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held by the Council of the City of Parksville on Monday, July 4, 2022, at 6 pm in the Parksville Civic and Technology Centre, 100 Jensen Avenue East, Parksville, BC to consider public representations on the following bylaw:

"ZONING AND DEVELOPMENT AMENDMENT BYLAW, 2022, NO. 2000.136"
proposes to amend "City of Parksville Zoning and Development Bylaw, 1994, No. 2000".

In general terms, the purpose of the proposed amendment is to facilitate automobile parking as a standalone permitted land use within the Tourist Commercial CS-2 zone.

Pursuant to Section 127 of the Community Charter and "Council Procedure Bylaw, 2018, No. 1541" a schedule of dates, times and places of City of Parksville regular municipal Council and Committee meetings for the year 2022 is posted on the City notice board at the Parksville Civic and Technology Centre, 100 Jensen Avenue East, Parksville for viewing during regular office hours, Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays.
