Payment Options

Except for appointments, our offices remain closed to the public. Payments may be made at the finance department (9 am to noon and 1 to 3 pm). During the COVID-19 pandemic, we continue to encourage residents to avoid in-person payment whenever possible through one of the following methods.

Online and Telephone Banking
Most financial institutions offer pay-by-phone or online banking services. Your bank account needs to be setup to conduct online transactions. Contact your bank for details. On your bank's website, log into your account and follow these steps:

  • Go to Pay Bills
  • Select Add Payee
  • Search “City of Parksville”
  • Click Search to view the full list of available payees.
  • Select the payee name that relates to the City of Parksville Property Tax or City of Parksville Utility Notice.
  • Enter an account number.

Credit Card Payments
Credit cards can be used to pay fees for business licences, bylaw infraction tickets and comfort letters. These steps should be followed when paying online by credit card (Visa or Mastercard):

  • Go to ONLINE SERVICES
  • Select ONLINE PAYMENTS
  • Choose payment type
  • Enter your credit card details and account number to proceed with payment
PLEASE NOTE: Credit card payments may also be made in-person at City Hall for these fees only.

Drop Box
You may deposit payments in the drop box located at the front entrance of City Hall, 100 Jensen Avenue East.

The finance department is open Monday to Friday, 9 am to noon and 1 pm to 3 pm to accept property tax, utility, tickets/licence fee payments and to purchase bus passes, dog licences and building permits.

How to pay your property taxes

  • In-person, online or by telephone through your financial institution. Do not wait until the due date to pay through your financial institution. Ensure you retain your receipt for proof-of-date period.
  • In- person at City Hall by debit, cheque or cash.
  • Set up payment through your bank or mortgage company to pay on your behalf.

    Register for MyCity
    MyCity is an all-in-one location for tax, utility, dog and business licence information and will enable you to keep track of your payment and transaction history. You can also claim your Home Owner Grant within your MyCity account.

    Pre-Authorized Withdrawl Service (PAWS)
    PAWS is a preauthorized withdrawal plan which allows taxpayers to contribute a fixed monthly payment towards their taxes and/or utilities.

    Province of BC Property Tax Deferment Program
    The BC Property Tax Deferment Program is a low interest loan program that helps qualified BC homeowners pay their annual property taxes on their principal residence.
