NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held by the Council of the City of Parksville on Monday, February 1, 2021, at 3 pm via electronic means, in accordance with provincial health regulations and Ministerial Order M192 resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, to consider public representations on the following bylaw:
"ZONING AND DEVELOPMENT AMENDMENT BYLAW, 2020, NO. 2000.130" proposes to amend "City of Parksville Zoning and Development Bylaw, 1994, No. 2000".
In general terms, the purpose of the proposed amendment is to create the Comprehensive Development Zone CD-30 intended to designate land for the purpose of accommodating tourist accommodations, high-density residential uses and care uses and to rezone the properties legally described as Parcel A (DD 378477I) of Lot 2, District Lot 106, Nanoose District, Plan 6988 Except that part in Plan VIP52183 [PID: 005-791-847] (480 Island Highway West) and Lot A, District Lot 106, Nanoose District, Plan 26392 [PID: 002-760-924] (490 Island Highway West) as shown shaded on the map below from the Single Family Residential RS-1 zone to the Comprehensive Development CD-30 zone.

CONDUCT OF HEARINGDuring the Hearing, the public will be allowed to make representations to City Council respecting matters contained in the proposed bylaw and all persons who believe their interest in property is affected by the proposed bylaw shall be afforded a reasonable opportunity to be heard or to present written submissions respecting matters contained in the bylaw.
Due to provincial health orders relating to the COVID-19 pandemic, in-person attendance at the hearing is not permitted.
Anyone wishing to watch the hearing, may view the livestream on the City's website. During the hearing, the Mayor will invite public input on the proposed bylaw.

INTENT TO ENTER INTO A USE AGREEMENT
Pursuant to Section 26 of the Community Charter, the City of Parksville hereby gives notice of its intention to enter into a use agreement with the Board of Education of School District No. 69 (Qualicum) for a portion of the facility known as the Parksville Community Centre building at 132 Jensen Avenue East, Parksville, BC, legally described as Lot A, District Lot 13, Nanoose District, Plan VIP88727.
The agreement will permit School District students to continue to use the commercial kitchen for their home economics classes during the 2020/ 2021 school year. The proposed agreement will be in place for a six month basis commencing on the 4th day of January, 2021, at a rental rate of $1 for the term. A copy of the agreement is available for viewing upon request.
INTENT TO ENTER INTO A LEASE AGREEMENT
Pursuant to Section 26 of the Community Charter, the City of Parksville hereby gives notice of its intention to enter into a lease agreement with the Parksville Curling Club Society for the facility known as the District 69 Ice Arena building at 193 Island Highway East, Parksville, BC, legally described as Parcel B (DD 34903I) of District Lot 13, Nanoose District, except that part in Plans 29279 and VIP52583.
The lease agreement will permit the tenant to continue to operate the District 69 Ice Arena as a curling facility. The proposed agreement will be in place for a five year term commencing on the 4th day of January, 2021, at a rental rate of $25 per year. A copy of the lease agreement is available for viewing upon request.
NOTICE OF DISPOSITION
Pursuant to Section 26 of the Community Charter, the City of Parksville hereby gives notice of its intention to dispose of eight fee simple parcels of land located at 106, 110, 114, 120, 126, 132, and 140 Jensen Avenue West and 212 Alberni Highway, Parksville British Columbia, having the Parcel Identifiers and legal descriptions set out in the notice below, to Vertafile Systems Incorporated for a total purchase price of $2.5 million plus applicable taxes.
2021 COUNCIL MEETING DATES
Pursuant to Section 127 of the Community Charter and "Council Procedure Bylaw, 2018, No. 1541" a schedule of dates, times and places of City of Parksville regular municipal Council and Committee meetings for the year 2021 is posted on the City notice board at the Civic and Technology Centre, 100 Jensen Avenue East, Parksville BC, for viewing during regular office hours, Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays.
