NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held by the Council of the City of Parksville on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at 6 pm in the Parksville Civic and Technology Centre, 100 Jensen Avenue East, Parksville, BC to consider public representations on the following bylaw:
"ZONING AND DEVELOPMENT AMENDMENT BYLAW, 2016, NO. 2000.104"
"Zoning and Development Amendment Bylaw, 2016, No. 2000.104" proposes to amend "City of Parksville Zoning and Development Bylaw, 1994, No. 2000".
In general terms, the purpose of the proposed amendment is to change the zoning from Single Family Residential RS-1 to Medium Density Residential RS-2 in order to facilitate townhomes on the properties at 451, 461 and 465 Hirst Avenue West [Lot 1, District Lot 106, Nanoose District, Plan 17579; Lot A, District Lot 106, Nanoose District, Plan 17962; and, Lot 4, District Lot 106, Nanoose District, Plan 18691].INSPECTION OF PROPOSED BYLAW AND RELATED MATERIALS
A copy of the proposed bylaw and documents may be inspected at the planning department, Parksville Civic and Technology Centre, 100 Jensen Avenue East, Parksville, BC during regular office hours (8 am to 4 pm) weekdays, excluding statutory holidays, from Tuesday, June 6, 2017 to and including Wednesday, July 5, 2017.CONDUCT OF HEARING
At the Hearing, the public will be allowed to make representations to City Council respecting matters contained in the proposed bylaw and all persons who believe their interest in property is affected by the proposed bylaw shall be afforded a reasonable opportunity to be heard or to present written submissions respecting matters contained in the bylaw.
This notice is published in accordance with Section 466 of the Local Government Act and Section 94 of the Community Charter.
COUNCIL CONSIDERATION OF ANNUAL MUNICIPAL REPORT
Pursuant to Section 99 of the Community Charter, City Council will consider the 2016 annual municipal report at the regular meeting on Monday, July 5, 2017, at 6 pm in the Forum at the Parksville Civic and Technology Centre, 100 Jensen Avenue East, Parksville, BC.
The annual report includes an overview of municipal services and operations and highlights 2016 accomplishments. The report also includes financial information, permissive tax exemptions, disqualifications and Council's strategic focus areas.
As of June 20, the 2016 annual report is available for public inspection in the administration department at the Parksville Civic and Technology Centre and on the City website.

SPECIAL EVENTS APPLICATION PROCEDURES
The City of Parksville invites applications from community organizations and private citizens wishing to hold special events at a variety of City-owned venues.

Interested parties may obtain copies of the City's special events policy and relevant application forms from the Department of Engineering and Operations at 1116 Herring Gull Way, from City Hall at 100 Jensen Avenue East or downloaded from the City's website at http://parksville.ca/cms.asp?wpID=133.
Applications for events to be held in 2015 will be accepted starting January 1, 2015, and the review process will begin January 31, 2015. As per policy, where conflicting dates occur, annual events will be given priority provided the request is received no later than the January 31 deadline, after which date the application will be addressed on the same basis as first time events. First time events will be handled on a first come, first served basis depending on venue availability.
Special event applications received after January 31 must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the event date and will be subject to the same terms and conditions as those applications received prior to January 31.
