NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held by the Council of the City of Parksville on Monday, March 4, 2019, at 6 pm in the Forum at the Parksville Civic and Technology Centre, 100 Jensen Avenue East, Parksville, BC to consider public representations on the following bylaws:

"ZONING AND DEVELOPMENT AMENDMENT BYLAW, 2019, NO. 2000.122"

"Zoning and Development Amendment Bylaw, 2019, No. 2000.122" proposes to amend "City of Parksville Zoning and Development Bylaw, 1994, No. 2000".

In general terms, the purpose of the proposed amendment is to add a Downtown Residential Commercial DRC-1 zone and to alter the zoning map from the Single Family Residential RS-1 zone to the new Downtown Residential Commercial DRC-1 zone in order to allow apartments, multiple family residential development, retail, offices, parking or a combination thereof at the following properties:

  • 106 Jensen Avenue West (Lot 10, District Lot 14, Nanoose District, Plan 6221
  • 110 Jensen Avenue West (Lot 11, District Lot 14, Nanoose District, Plan 6221
  • 114 Jensen Avenue West (Lot 12, District Lot 14, Nanoose District, Plan 6221
  • 120 Jensen Avenue West (Lot 13, District Lot 14, Nanoose District, Plan 6221
  • 126 Jensen Avenue West (Lot 14, District Lot 14, Nanoose District, Plan 6221
  • 132 Jensen Avenue West (Lot 15, District Lot 14, Nanoose District, Plan 6221
  • 140 Jensen Avenue West (Lot 2, District Lot 14, Nanoose District, Plan 7042
  • 212 Alberni Highway (Lot 1, District Lot 14, Nanoose District, Plan 7042
  • INSPECTION OF PROPOSED BYLAW AND RELATED MATERIALS

    A copy of the proposed bylaw and documents may be inspected at the planning department, Parksville Civic and Technology Centre, 100 Jensen Avenue East, Parksville, BC during regular office hours (8 am to 4 pm) weekdays, excluding statutory holidays, from Tuesday, January 22, 2019, to and including Monday, March 4, 2019.

    CONDUCT OF HEARING

    At the Hearing, the public will be allowed to make representations to City Council respecting matters contained in the proposed bylaw and all persons who believe their interest in property is affected by the proposed bylaw shall be afforded a reasonable opportunity to be heard or to present written submissions respecting matters contained in the bylaw.

    This notice is published in accordance with Section 466 of the Local Government Act and Section 94 of the Community Charter.

    2019 COUNCIL MEETING DATES

    Pursuant to Section 127 of the Community Charter and "Council Procedure Bylaw, 2018, No. 1541" a schedule of dates, times and places of City of Parksville regular municipal Council and Committee meetings for the year 2019 is posted on the City notice board at the Civic and Technology Centre, 100 Jensen Avenue East, Parksville BC, for viewing during regular office hours of 8 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays. The meeting schedule may also be viewed on the City website at www.parksville.ca.
