Online Crime Reporting
The Oceanside Detachment RCMP offers online reporting of property crime less than $5,000 where there is no suspect or witnesses. As well, this service may be used to report a driving complaint not in progress. This service when used, has the ability to free up frontline officers to handle other priorities and streamline processes for residents and businesses when reporting property crime. Police Based Victim Services
Policed Based Victim Services (PBVS) provides emotional and practical support to victims of crime and trauma. All services provided by PBVS are free of charge. Referrals are typically made by RCMP, Crown Counsel and other community professionals. The purpose of PBVS is to lessen the impact of crime/trauma on victims, witnesses, and family members and to assist in their recovery. Program goals and objectives include: providing immediate crisis intervention; ensuring emotional support until counselling can be secured; providing practical assistance in terms of community resources/referrals/safety planning; provide and attend to Justice related supports including updates on police and court files; orientation to and information on the Criminal Justice System; court accompaniment and liaison with justice personnel; and ensuring all victims are aware of their rights under the Victims of Crime Act, Canadian Victims Bill of Rights and Crime Victim Assistance Program for benefits to victims. Inquiries should be directed to Oceanside RCMP at 250 248-6111

Restorative Justice
Arrowsmith Community Justice Society (ACJS) is a local, non-profit organization which provides free restorative justice and community dispute resolution services to the public. ACJS offers a program that is an alternative to going through the traditional court system. Trained facilitators bring all parties involved in a conflict or crime together, and facilitate a timely and mutually agreeable resolution. Referrals are received from Oceanside RCMP, School District 69, and community members.

Secure-Us (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design)
The mission of the Secure-Us program is to create an enhanced sense of public safety and provide practical advice for victims of property crime and the general public by reducing the risk and fear of crime through support and education. The Secure-Us team of RCMP trained volunteers act as crime prevention ambassadors to victims of property crime and the general public within the Oceanside RCMP catchment area. The volunteers engage in community outreach and provide advice, including a range of business, home and personal security information and details of other crime prevention programs, such as Block Watch. An onsite visitation, usually accompanied by an RCMP officer, is arranged where the concepts of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) is used to frame suggestions to mitigate and discourage criminal activity. A report is mailed upon completion which may include additional crime prevention information and/or materials.
