Parksville Volunteer Fire Department members will host their annual fire prevention week open house on Sunday, October 4 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Parksville Firehall at 160 Jensen Avenue West This event provides an excellent opportunity for residents to learn about a variety of fire and life safety topics, including home fire sprinklers, smoke alarms, home escape planning, and FireSmart principles and practices that can help reduce wildfire risk and improve a property's ability to withstand a wildfire. There will also be educational displays and interactive activities where you will learn how to use a fire extinguisher, how to perform CPR, try hose and target practice, and a kids’ bunker gear challenge.
